Firm Overview

History

The firm was founded in 1973 by Robin Gibson and was the first law firm in Florida’s Tenth Judicial Circuit (consisting of Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties and containing the cities of Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Lake Wales, Haines City, Auburndale, Mulberry, Lake Alfred, Fort Meade, Davenport, and Frostproof in Polk County; and Sebring, Avon Park and Lake Placid in Highlands County; and Wauchula, Bowling Green and Zolfo Springs in Hardee County) that was able to limit its practice to civil litigation.

Legal Ability and Integrity

The Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory has been asking lawyers and judges for their confidential assessment of law firms for more than 130 years. Legal ability ratings are from “A” to “C”. A “V” rating can also be included for professionalism – standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. The firm has enjoyed the “AV rating”, the highest given, for the past 30 consecutive years.

Lawyer Referrals

Half of the firm’s work comes from other lawyers who ask us to represent their clients or families. We enjoy working with other lawyers. Our firm works by the event. At the close of the case, the client continues to be represented by the referring attorney.

Client Centered

The firm follows a “Client First” principle: If we strive for top quality work and serve the interests of the client first – the fee will take care of itself. Our cases usually last a year or more, during which our clients often become friends. Clients have direct contact with those persons who are actually doing the work on their case. We keep our clients informed and take time to explain consequences. We encourage calls about questions and concerns. If we don’t have the answer right away, we’ll find it. After office hours, we have 24-hour-a-day voice mail on our telephone line.

Firm Goal

After all is said and done, the firm’s goal is to have satisfied clients and referral attorneys who will recommend the firm to their friends and families.
